pThe volunteers of the Wyckoff Fire Department had a very busy Sunday Afternoon filled with working structure fires motor vehicle accident roll overs and alarms.ppAt 1342 hours dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an activate fire alarm at a commercial building on Franklin Avenue.nbspnbsp Just after dispatch 911 calls reported smoke coming from the building.nbspnbspppChief Murphy 230 signed into service and immediately requested a 2nd alarm assignment to scene due to the additional 911 calls reporting heavy smoke issuing from the structure.ppUpon arrival Chief Murphy established command and reported to all incoming units that there was smoke coming from the basement and first floor areas of the 2.5 story commercial structure.ppWyckoff Engine 231 OIC DC Brock Tower Ladder 241 OIC BC Rose Rescue 242 Engine 233 OIC DC Baker Engine 232 OIC DC Graglia Engine 235 OIC BC Zuckerman and Engine 236 all responded into the box assignment.ppUpon arrival the crew from Engine 231 established a water supply and stretched handlines to the front door of the structure.nbsp Upon arrival the crew from 241 forced entry to the structure and began a primary search on the 1st floor.nbsp Simultaneously the crew from Engine 233 gained access to the basement level of the structure and began investigating.nbsp Interior crews quickly determined that the main body of fire was in the basement level of the structure and crews began a quick knockdown.ppDue to the fire load and storage in the basement area extensive overhaul was performed to remove any hotspots.ppAdditional units on scene were Waldwick Truck 641 Hohokus FAST Team Franklin Lakes Engine Oakland Tower 1041 Midland Park EnginenbspHawthornenbspFD Cascade 57 and thenbspWyckoff Ambulance Corp.ppThanks to all the members who responded and did an outstanding job atnbspthe Franklin Avenue fire call.nbspnbspppThe remainder of the evening consisted of a motor vehicle rollover on Rt. 208 a commercial waterflow alarm and an activated carbon monoxide alarm.ppPictures courtesy of Nick Ciampo Waldwick Fire Dept. and Ryan Noon.p
