pAs a fast moving October snow storm moved through our area on Saturday into Sunday the storm left devastation and lots of cleanup behind.nbspnbsp As the snow began to fall the weight of the heavy snow on the leaves began to cause hundreds of trees throughout the Township to fall or loose limbs causing roadway closures downed power lines and widescale power outages throughout town.ppAs of Sunday Evening approximately 70 of the Township was still without power as a result of the havoc left behind from the storm.nbsp All Township and regional schools were closed Monday and Tuesday due to the continued power outages and downed power lines creating hazards for children walking to school.ppThe members of The Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department were called upon to respond to 84 calls within the last three days including the followingpp- Mutual aid Tower Ladder amp Engine to Franklin Lakes for a working structure fire.pp- Numerous utility emergenciespp- Numerous reports of smoke in structuresppThanks to all the dedicated members of The Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department whonbspresponded to allnbspof these callsnbspduringnbspthe storm a great job by allppnbspp
