Dispatch toned out the volunteers at 0900 am to respond to the activated fire alarm on Lavelle Court. Upon the completion of crews investigating the alarm was determined to be activated due to an alarm malfunction. Shortly after the department returned to service another request was recieved to respond to the intersection of Ravine Ave and Lafayette Ave for the utility emergency. Chief 230 Murphy established command and reported a tractor trailer had become entangled in power lines hanging from pole to pole along Ravine Ave. The driver of the truck was briefly detained in the cab as the power lines had dropped onto the trailer creating a potential life hazard. Crews from Engine 232 OIC Lt Hendrickson and Engine 231 OIC Lt Gaeta secured the area and checked all effected homes for any electrical failures while awaiting the arrival of PSEG. The department returned back to service once PSEG had arrived on scene to begin repair work.-220
