On Wednesday October 31 2007 at approximately 1341 hrs Truck241 was dispatched to The Borough of Franklin Lakes for the 2nd alarm assignment for a report of a large gas main that had been struck in the roadway in front of a large shopping center and an office complex which was under construction. Chief Murphy 230 and Truck241 OIC DC Brock responded to the scene. Once on scene Chief Murphy established the Command Post and worked with Capt Post348.FLFD. Truck241 was staged in the shopping center and monitored outside air quality as well as inside the adjacent stores. Chief Donch 330FLFDarrived on scene shortly after and assumed Command and Chief Murphy became the Operations officer. All units remained on scene and monitored the progress of PSEG. After a couple of hours the gas was gated down enough and a clamp was applied. Truck241 conducted a final sweep of the parking lot and stores and then returned.-230Thanks to 330 for the photos.
