On Thursday December 6 2007 at approximately 1645 hrs dispatched toned out for the Tower Ladder to respond to the Urban Farms Shopping Center in Franklin Lakes for a reported gas leak. Chief Murphy230 and Truck241OIC Capt Fisher responded. Upon arrival at the scene Chief Murphy worked with Franklin Lakes Lt. Matt Post on establishing a command post. Truck 241 assisted with laddering the roof and checking all the roof top units for a leak. Upon the arrival of Franklin Lakes Departmental Chief Jeremy Donch330 additional apparatus was requested. Chief Donch assumed Command and turned operations over to Chief Murphy. The additional request brought Wyckoff Engine 233OIC DC Baker to the scene. Upon arrival of the engine they were placed in staging and their crew assisted with supplying an additional gas meter and evacuations. The final cause was determined to be a problem with methane gas being expelled from a closely located sewage facility. All units were available a short time later. -230
