On Wednesday November 21 2007 at approximately 1115 hrs one engine was requested to respond to the Borough of Saddle River for a confirmed structure fire on Adams Rd. Chief Murphy 230 and Engine231OIC DC Brockresponded. Engine231 was detailed to water supply as the nearest hydrant was located in the neighboring town of Waldwick. Once the engine arrived on scene and established a water supply with the Saddle River Engine the crew responded up to the scene to work. Once on scene the crews assisted other firefighters with roof vent second floor searchs and exterior wall opening for fire extension. The home had a heavy fire load originating from the basement. In several locations the 1st floor was burned away.All crews continued to work on the scene for several hours before being released. Truck241OIC Capt Fisher was also dispatched and detailed as a cover company locating in Saddle Rive Fire Headquarters. While both apparatus were in Saddle River Hawthorne Fire Department and Midland Park Fire Department covered a CO alarm for us in the township.
