At 1407 hours today dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for a NORCON Activation and a Tower Ladder Request for a working structure fire in the Borough of Franklin Lakes.Chief Murphy 230 and Tower Ladder 241 OIC DC Brock responded to the scene. Upon arrival of Chief Murphy he established Command and was assisted by Oakland Chief Sondervan 1030 as the Safety Officer and Oakland Capt. LeRoy as the Operations Chief. Command reported a heavy fire condition emanating from the basement windows on side A of the 2.5 story residential structure with the fire auto exposing to the first floor. Chief Murphy requested NORCON to assign a 2nd alarm assignment to the box and a 3rd alarm assignment for coverage of the Borough Firehouses. Wyckoff Engine 232 Mahwah Engine 222 and Waldwick 641 Truck were dispatched for the coverage assignment.Franklin Lakes Ladder 342 arrived first due along with Fraklin Lakes Engine 331. Wyckoff Tower Ladder 241 arrived moments later to assist the initial Franklin Lakes Crews with primary searches and initial fire attack which were already underway. Oakland Chief 1030 and Oakland Engine 1034 arrived along with Franklin Lakes Engine 335 to assist at the scene. Additional companies responding to the scene were Waldwick Rescue 1 serving as the FAST TEAM Midland Park Engine 533 Fair Lawn 979 Cascade Hohokus Engine 731 2nd Fast Team and Wyckoff Engine 232 which was moved up from the cover assignment when additional manpower was needed due to the extensive overhaul operation. Chief Bohny 330 arrived on scene a short time after initial operations were underway and assumed Command from Chief Murphy.Crews were released from the scene at approximately 1645hours.Great job to the Franklin Lakes Boyz on a great knock down-249
