pThis weekend proved to be very time consuming for the Wyckoff Emergency Services.ppThe members of the Wyckoff Fire Department started to prepare for Hurricane Irene last week by preparing all ofnbspour tools and equipment to insure that we were prepared to handle any emergency that may arise.ppOn Friday Evening member of Wyckoffs Emergency ManagementnbspTeam OEM came together for a briefing headed by OEM Coordinator Lt. Dave Murphy.nbsp During the meeting everyone was briefed on the current storm status and the preparations that have been taken prepare Wyckoff for the storm.ppAs the storm moved into our area at about 8pm Saturday Evening the members of the WFD were called upon to respond to Hawthorne for a working structure.nbsp Chief Rose 230 and Tower Ladder 241 OIC DC Vanderplaat both responded into the scene and assisted Hawthorne.nbspnbspppAs the night and the storm progressed the volunteers of the WFD responded to over 60 calls for service as a result of the storm.nbspnbsp Early Monday Morning the members were able to get some rest as the storm had moved out of area.ppThanks to the dedicated members of the Wyckoff Fire Department who spent countless hours preparing answering calls and standing by at the firehouses during this storm.pp-230p
