pnbsp On Monday February 9 2009 at approximately 1032 hrs dispatch toned out the department for a mutual aid tower ladder assignment to the quotBorough of Franklin Lakesquot for a reported smoke condition through out a large residentialnbsphome. Chief Murphy 230 and Truck 241 OIC BC Vanderplatt responded on the assignment. While enroute Franklin Lakes Command Asst. Chief Knubel340 upgraded the callnbsp to a working fire.nbsp Upon arrival Chief Murphy was assigned to the interior and Truck 241s crew was assigned to start quotopening upquot on the interior. The source of the fire was a gas dryer that had extended into the walls and flooring.nbsp A quick knockdown by FL crews contained the damage to the fire room only. Engine 231OIC BC LoRusso was also dispatched on the cover assignment.ppnbspnbspnbspnbspnbspnbsp At approximately 2105 hrs dispatched toned out the department for a strong natural gas odor outside of a residence on Fairfield Road.nbspChief Murphy230 DC Rose239nbspand all Wyckoffnbspunits signed into service. Upon investigation with the assistance of PSEampG the cause was confirmednbspto be exterior but the origin was unfounded. While at this call dispatchnbspreceived four additional calls of naturalnbspgasnbspfor various different areas across a threenbspmile distance. Crews werenbspdispatchednbspto check all areas. The odors were again all confirmed to be exterior and the origins were unfounded. Several surrounding departments were also in their respective areas investigating similar reports.nbsp PSEampG crews were continuing to investigate all areas.ppnbsppp-230p
