On Saturday October 13 2007 at approximately 1325 hrs dispatch toned out for a mutual aid engine response to the Boro of Franklin Lakes. The request was due to a vacant home filled with smoke in a non-hydrant area. Engine 233OIC BN Deblock and Chief Murphy 230 responded. Upon the arrival of Engine 233 crews assisted with ventilation of the structure. As the Engine was picking up dispatch toned out for an activated fire alarm at the Eisenhower School. A search of the building was being completed when the Wyckoff Fire Desk reported that they had received a request from The Oakland Fire Department for the Fast Team to respond to a 2nd alarm structure fire at 819 Ramapo Valley Road. The crew was assembled and Chief Murphy230 and Rescue242OIC DC Brock responded. BC Zuckerman 248 assumed command at the school and reported that the cause of the alarm was a malfunction in the system. All remaining units were returned. While returning Tower241 was requested to respond on the 2nd alarm as well for a cover assignment. Upon arrival of Chief Murphy and The Fast Team Oakland crews had made very good progress in the attic. Smoke and heat were still visible from the attic vent. The Fast Team took up position at side A of the structure while Chief Murphy responded to the command post.Oakland Captain LEROY had everything well in control and the fast team was broken down shortly thereafter with the exception of a few members that assisted with overhaul. Crews returned to service and returned to Wyckoff. -230
