pAt 120am last evening as Wyckoffs Bravest were fast asleep preparing for the holiday weekend Wyckoff Police were receiving reports of a basement fire on Sunset Blvd.nbsp Dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment reporting a 911 call from a homeowner stating that his basement was on fire.ppChief Murphy 230 signed into service moments later and received an update from the police officer on scene who was reporting thick black smoke issuing from the front door of the residence.nbspnbsp At this point Chief Murphy requested 2 FAST Teams Hohokus and Ramsey to the scene as well as a secondary Rescue Oakland as well as 2nd alarm coverage at the firehouses.ppEngine 231 OIC Lt. Gaeta Tower Ladder 241 OIC DC. Rose Engine 232 OIC DC Graglia Engine 233 OIC Lt. Forsyth Squad 234 OIC Capt. Fisher Rescue 242 and the remainder of the Wyckoff Assignment responded.ppThe first due crew from Engine 231 stretched two lines into the structure and made their way to the basement encountering a thick black smoke condition.nbsp The crew from Tower 241 assisted the first due crew conducting a primary search and ventilation.nbsp Crews immediately located a small fire burning in the front corner of the basement area which is believed to have started in the area of a stove.nbspppAs soon as the fire was placed under control and all checks for extension beyond the fire room proved negative Command downsized the incident leaving Wyckoff units on scene for a short time completing ventilation overhaul and salvage within the structure.ppAnother great team effort by all involvednbsp Special thanks to our mutual aid friends for the quick response.ppOn behalf of Chief Dave Murphy and the Board of Officers Happy 4th of July to all of our members families friends and residents of Wyckoffpp-239p
