FRIDAY PROVES TO BE A BUSY DAY FOR THE WFD

pFriday turned out to be a busy day for Wyckoffs Bravest bringing them out for four runs to finish the day.ppAt 1256 hours dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an activated fire alarm on Brookside Ave. DC Rose 239 Engine 231 OIC Lt. Gaeta Tower Ladder 241 OIC FF. J. Ciampo and Engine 232 OIC Lt. Tanucilli all responded into the scene.nbspnbsp Crews investigated and determined that the alarm was activated by contractors working on scene.ppAt approximately 1530 hours the Skys over Wyckoff began to darken and a small storm made its way into the Township bringing the WFD out to handle a few storm related incidents.ppAt 1549 hours dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for wires down with a utility pole on fire on Franklin Avenue in the area of Overlook.nbsp DC Rose 239 Engine 231 OIC Lt. Gaeta Tower Ladder 241 OIC BC Vanderplaat Engine 232 OIC BC LoRusso and Engine 233 OIC BC Koeber all responded into the scene.nbspnbsp Upon arrival it was determined that several high tension power lines had fallen from the utility pole and were now laying in the roadway on Overlook.nbsp Crews assisted the Wyckoff Police Department with shutting the roadway down to isolate the scene and checked all of the residences in the area for any power related issues.nbsp All apparatus were released from the scene a short time later while members of the Wyckoff Fire Police remained on scene to secure the area until the utility company arrived.ppAt 1718 hours dispatch toned out the WFD for another utility related emergency on Wyckoff Avenue at Cornell Street for a reported utility pole and wires on fire.nbsp DC Rose 239 Engine 232 OIC BC LoRusso Tower Ladder 241 OIC BC Vanderplaat and Engine 233 OIC BC Koeber all responded.nbsp Crews quickly determined that there was no fire or hazard present upon arrival and the scene was quickly downsized.nbsp All units returned to service a short time later.ppAt 2354 hours dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an activated fire alarm on Sharon Lane. DC Rose 239 Engine 232 OIC DC Graglia Engine 233 OIC Lt. Forsyth Tower Ladder 241 OIC BC Vanderplaat Engine 236 OIC BC Koeber and Engine 231 OIC FF. Killby all responded.nbspnbsp Crews from Engine 232 and TL 241 investigated and determined that the alarm was activated due to system malfunction.nbspppnbspp
