On Wednesday November 28 2007 at approximately 0625 hrs as the sun was rising dispatch toned out for an activated fire alarm on Carlton Road. Upon arrival units located a faulty thermostat creating a heat condition in a second floor room. While operating at that scene dispatch toned out for an activated fire alarm at the Christian Health Care Center. Responding units arrived on scene to find an activated alarm due to a dryer fire that had been extinguished. No extension was reported and units returned to service. At approximately 1745 hrs dispatch toned out for a natural gas oder inside a commercial building in the Braen Avenue complex. Upon arrival of units it was determined to be an exterior leak. Crews located a cracked line on a gas meter attached to the exterior of one of the buildings. PSEG arrived on scene and shut the line down. The interior of all surrounding buildings were checked for natural gas vapors with negative results. At approximately 2110 hrs dispatch toned out for an activated fire alarm on Lakeview Drive. Crews investigated and reported a malfunction in the system and returned to service. The final call for the day came in at 2215 hrs as a 911 call was received reporting a smoke condition in the basement of a home on James Way. Crews investigated and reported that they had a steam condition from a faulty furnance. Crews isolated the services to the unit and returned. The last hour of the evening remained quiet which was welcomed by all members.-230
