pAt 1715 hours on Thursday dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for a possible working structure fire at the abandoned grocery store complex on Greenwood Avenue.nbsp 911 callers were reporting heavy smoke coming from the roof of the structure.ppEngine 231 OICCommand BC. Vanderplaat signed into service several moments after dispatch.nbsp Prior to arrival BC. Vanderplaat activated NORCON and requested two FAST Teams to the scene bringing teams from Ramsey and Hohokus as well as 2 second alarm assignment.ppUpon arrival BC. Vanderplaat reported a smoke condition coming from the roof of the structure and requested Tower Ladder 241 OIC FF. T. Brock position at the rear of the building to assist crews in making access to the roof.nbsp The remainder of the Wyckoff assignment responded into the scene bringing Res2cue 242 Squad 234 Engine 232 Engine 235 and Engine 233.nbspppFranklin Lakes Chief Bohny 330 Asst. Chief of Operations Knubel and Franklin Lakes Engine 335 arrived on scene to assist the Wyckoff assignment and established an alternate water source to supply the sprinkler system in the building if needed.ppCrews going to the roof quickly determined that a small fire had been set on the roof of the store causing minor extension to the roof of the building.nbsp BC. Vanderplaat assigned interior crews to check for extension into the structurenbspwhich proved negative.ppOnce crews determined that there was no extension into the structure BC.
