pAt 0236 hours this morning the Oakland Fire Department was toned out for a possible house fire on Grove Street.nbspnbsp Oakland Chief Sondervan 1030 arrived moments later to find a 2.5 story wood frame residence with heavy smoke pushing from the eaves and attic area.nbspnbsp Oakland Command requested a NORCON Activation as well as a FAST Team request bringing the members of the WFD to the scene.nbspppDC Rose 239 and Res2cue 242 OIC BC Vanderplaat responded into the scene.nbsp Upon arrival of DC Rose it was determined that additional interior crews were needed due to the conditions of the residence.nbsp The crew from 242 was assigned to assist with exterior ventilation as well as laddering the structure.nbsp Once an additional FAST Team was on scene from Waldwick the crew from 242 assisted on the interior of the residence with extensive overhaul as well as on the roof.nbsp The roof crew had to make several large vent holes in the roof to gain access to the stubborn fire.ppWyckoff units remained on scene to assist with cleanup and returned back to town around 530am.nbspppAdditional mutual aid units on scene were Franklin Lakes Mahwah Waldwick and Fair Lawn Cascade.nbspnbsp Standby crews were Wyckoff Tower Ladder 241 Saddle River Engine and Skyline Lakes Engine.ppGreat job to the Oakland crews on a quick knock down.ppPictures courtesy of the Oakland Fire Department.pp-239p
