At 252am on Wednesday December 19th Wyckoff Police received a report from a passing motorist of a one vehicle accident with rollover and possible entrapment in the area of Franklin Avenue and VanBlarcom Lane. This particular location has been the site of several serious motor vehicle accidents in the past due to grade changes and excessive speed of motorists on the dangerous curve. As per normal dispatch protocols dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for the WFD to respond for the call. Chief Murphy 230 signed in responding to the assignment and was on scene within a minute of dispatch. Res2cue 242 BN. Rose 249 called in service as the first due apparatus assigned to the box. Once called in service Command reported that there was indeed a one vehicle rollover but the victim had safely extricated herself from the vehicle. Engine 231 DC Brock 239 called in service and arrived on scene shortly thereafter to assist. All other Wyckoff units were returned to service while the Res2cue and Engine 231 stood by.The crew from Res2cue went to work to cut the battery on the vehicle to prevent any further safety hazards while the engine crew stood fast in case a protection line needed to be pulled. Both units along with Chief 230 remained on scene while the tow truck operator attempted to remove the vehicle from the scene. After several attempts the tow truck operator was able to recover the vehicle from the residents front yard and remove it from the scene. All units returned to service at 331am and command was terminated.Thank you to the members who came out to brave the cold for the early morning wake up-249
