pAt approximately 1130am on Saturday dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for a reported working basement fire on Meadowbrook Road.nbsp As per protocols police dispatch started a mutual aid engine from the Borough of Allendale.ppDC Rose 239 signed into service a few moments later and requested two FAST Teams be dispatched to the scene to assist. Hohokus and Ramsey.nbspnbsp Engine 231 OIC BC Vanderplaat Tower Ladder 241 OIC FF. Pettit Engine 232 OIC DC Graglia and Engine 233 OIC Lt. Forsyth all responded into the scene.nbspnbspppUpon arrival of the first due units it was determined that an aerosol spray paint can fell off of a shelf and punctured dispersing its contents directly into the pilot light of the water heater causing a flash fire.nbspnbsp The homeowner was able to extinguish the fire with no extension to the residence.nbsp At this point both FAST Teams were cancelled.ppAllendale Assistant Chief Dave Baez 940 and Allendale Engine 932 arrived shortly after Wyckoff units but were returned a short time later when the scene was downsized.ppWyckoff crews remained on scene to provided ventilation to the residence and securing the water heater until PSEampG could arrive.pp-239p
