pWell today proved to be a very busy day for Wyckoff Bravestnbspnbsp With the temperatures dipping below 15 degrees mother nature was not looking out for our members.ppAt 854am dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an activated fire alarm at the Christian Health Care Center. Chief Murphy 230 responded as well as the remainder of the Wyckoff Assignment.nbspnbsp Thenbspalarm was determined to have been activated in error by the maintenance staff.ppJust as the crews were backing the apparatus back into their respective firehouses Franklin Lakes Police dispatched the Franklin Lakes Fire Department for heavy smoke coming from a residence on Glen Place.nbsp Upon arrival Franklin Lakes Police reported heavy smoke coming from a first floor window.nbsp Chief Bohny 330 signed into service and immediately requested a second alarm assignment to the scene.ppChief Murphy 230 andnbspTower Ladder 241 OIC Lt. Gaeta both responded into the scene in Franklin Lakes.nbsp Upon arrival crews were directed to assist by venting the structure and assisting with primary searches.ppAt 933 hours just after 241 had arrived at the Franklin Lakes Fire Wyckoff Police dispatched the FD for smoke coming from a home on Linden Street.nbspnbsp DC. Rose 239 Engine 231 BC Vanderplaat Engine 232 Capt. Hendrickson and Engine 235 all responded.nbspnbsp Upon arrival heavy black smoke was pushing from the chimney of the home and was later determined to be a boiler malfunction.nbspppAs Engine 231 became available Franklin Lakes Command requested a full coverage assignment be directed to cover the firehouses in the borough.nbsp Engine 231 was dispatched along with a Midland Park Engine and a Waldwick Tower Ladder.ppWhile enroute to the coverage assignment NORCON dispatched Engine 231 to respond on an activated fire alarm at 551 Commerce Street in Franklin Lakes.nbspnbsp Engine 231 arrived and determined that the alarm was activated in error by dust from construction work taking place.nbspnbsp Engine 231 cleared the scene and went back to FLFD HQ for the coverage assignment.ppBack on Glen Place Franklin Lakes Command reported that he interior crews were still opening up and trying to locate additional pockets of fire in the walls and ceilings.nbsp Due to the extreme temperatures an additional engine company was requested at the scene for manpower.nbspnbsp Engine 231 was dispatched by NORCON to the scene and assisted.ppAdditional units on scene were Oakland Engine 1031 Waldwick FAST Team Mahwah TankerEngine 425 Hohokus FAST Team Fair Lawn Cascade 979 Ramsey Rescue Cascade and the Franklin Lake Ambulance Corp.ppAfter a well coordinated mutual aid effort the fire was extinguished and all apparatus were released around 1230pm.nbspnbspppPhotos courtesy of the Waldwick Fire Department.ppFor additional photos click on the following linkppa hrefhttpwyckofffire.shutterfly.com2248httpwyckofffire.shutterfly.com2248app-239p
