ANOTHER BUSY DAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE WFD

pToday has proved to be another busy day for the members of Wyckoff Bravest who have logged numerous calls for the day thus far.nbsp What will the rest of the day bringppAt 1220am dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for wires on fire in a tree on Godwin Avenue near Ralph Avenue.nbspnbspnbsp DC Rose 239 Engine 231 OIC BC Vanderplaat Engine 232 OIC Capt. Hendrickson and Engine 233 OIC BC Koeber all responded into the scene.nbspnbsp It was determined that a large tree limb came down and was resting upon the high tensison lines causing the wires to arc.nbsp The scene was downsized and turned over to the electric company.ppAt 0538am dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an activated fire alarm on Barnstable Drive.nbsp DC Rose 239 Engine 233 OIC BC Koeber Tower Ladder 241 OIC FF. Wendelaar and Engine 232 OIC Capt. Hendrickson all responded into the scene.nbsp Crews investigated and determined thatnbspa system malfunction caused the activation.ppAt 0856am dispatch toned out NORCON for a working structure fire in Ramsey.nbspnbsp Ramsey Command 440 requested all 2nd and 3rd alarm units direct to the scene with all 4th alarm companies being dispatch for coverage.nbsp Ramsey crews were on scene operating at a large ranch style home with a heavy black smoke condition throughtout.nbsp Wyckoff Tower Ladder 241 was initally sent to standby and then redirected to the scene by Ramsey Command.nbsp TL 241 OIC Capt. Zivkovich responded in and stoodby in staging until the scene was downsized.nbspnbsp Ramsey crews determined that large boiler backfire had caused the smoke condition with minor extension into the area surrounding the boiler.nbspppAt approximatelynbsp0916 hours while TL 241 was still in Ramsey on the coverage assignment dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an activated fire alarm on Franklin Avenue.nbsp Engine 231 OIC BC Vanderplaat Engine 233 and Engine 232 all responded.nbsp Crews determined that the alarm was activated due to a system malfunction.ppAt 1205 hours dispatch toned out a mutual aid request for the FAST Teamnbspand Tower Ladder 241 to respond to Oakland for a reported kitchen fire.nbspnbsp DC Rose 239 Rescue 242 OIC BC Vanderplaat and Tower 241 OIC Lt. Gaeta all responded into Oakland.nbspnbspOakland crews were able to quickly extinguish a small kitchen fire returning all incoming mutual aid companies shortlynbspafter thenbsparrival of the FAST Team.nbspppAt 1456 hours dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for an odor of natural gas in a residence on Bromley Place.nbsp Engine 231 OIC BC Vanderplaat Tower Ladder 241 OIC Capt. Zivkovich and Engine 232 Capt. Hendrickson all responded into the scene.nbspnbsp Crews determined that the odor was actually exhaust from a backpack blower being used by a landscaper at the residence and no natural gas was present.nbsppp-239ppnbspp
