Well what should have been a nice quiet Sunday proved to be a busy day for the boys from the WFD.At 718am dispatch toned out a general alarm for a truck fire at the Christian Health Care Center located at 301 Sicomac Avenue. It was reported that the vehicle was located at the loading dock area of Building 7 on the campus. Chief Murphy230 Engine 233 OIC DC Baker and Engine 232 OIC Graglia responded. Upon arrival Chief Murphy reported that a Bobcat Skid Steer was on fire and not a vehicle. Engine 233 arrived first due and was able to quickly extinguish the fire assisted by the crew from Engine 232.Units were returned to service a short time later.At 938am dispatch toned out a general alarm for an activated alarm of fire at 500 Braen Avenue which is a large industrial park located on the Hawthorne Border in the east side of town. Chief Murphy 230 Deputy Chief Graglia 238 responded as well as Engine 232 OIC Capt. LoRussoand the rest of the Wyckoff Apparatus. Upon arrival 232 crew as assisted by the crew from Tower Ladder 241 and was able to gain access to the building utilizing the Knox Box System. Upon interior investigation taking place Capt. LoRusso advised Command that there was a heavy water flow inside the structure cause by rain and ice melting on the roof which had found its way into the structure. The water was coming into the structure and leaking onto several fire smoke and heat detectors in the structure. The building was turned over to a keyholder who responded to assess the situation. Wyckoff crews returned to service shortly after 1000am.At approximately 330 pm the alarm a 500 Braen Avenue was reactivated and Co 2 was dispatched back to scene to check on the condition. Chief Murphy 230 Deputy Chief Graglia 238 and Engine 232 OIC Capt. LoRusso responded and reported that the water condition still existed and the property owners were on scene trying to rectify the situation. At 1707 hours the Wyckoff FAST Team was dispatched to Waldwick for smoke in a structure. See separate story.-249
