Thursday morning started off with the Daytime crews taking in an alarm of fire. Upon arrival of the first due Engine231OIC Capt Fisherit was determined to be set off in error by contractors. As the day progressed Tower Ladder 241 on a cover detail for Waldwick until further notice was dispatched for a reported dryer fire. Upon arrival of Waldwick command630 Chief Alvarez It was determined that they had a heavy smoke condition throughout the basement and a fire in the ceiling area between the basement and first floor rear. Chief Murphy 230 and Tower Ladder241OIC Capt. Fisher arrived on scene. Chief Murphy was assigned the basement division by Command. TL 241 was assigned to complete a primary on the first and second floors of the home while the remainder of the truck crew set up for a positive pressure vent. Initial Waldwick crews stretched a dry line to the door. They went directly to the basement and did a great job. They were able to knock down the fire with a couple of water cans minimizing the damage for the homeowner. Minor overhaul was completed and all units were back in service a short time later. While returning from that dispatch toned out for an alarm of fire at the Christian Health Care Center. Upon police arrival it was reported to be burnt food in a second floor apartment. Deputy Chief Baker237 arrived on scene and confirmed the same as initial Truck and Engine Crews started into the building. After a quick investigation no ppv was needed and units were available. Just when you thought it was safe to back into the firehouse dispatch toned out for an activated CO detector in the basement of a residential home. A sweep of the home was completed by initial crews and the alarm was determined to be a malfunction.-230
