At approximately 13:11 hours on Tuesday, August 12, members of the Wyckoff Fire Department were toned out for a report of smoke in the area of Morley Drive. Upon arrival, Wyckoff PD and Assistant Chief Tim Brock reported a heavy smoke condition with visible fire showing from the rear. A working basement fire was confirmed, and a second alarm was transmitted immediately. Company 1 arrived first on scene and stretched a line to the basement. Crews from Companies 2 and 3 arrived shortly after and assisted with stretching a second line as well as performing primary searches of the first and second floor. After knocking down the bulk of the fire, crews from Wyckoff and surrounding towns assisted with overhaul of the fire. In total, three alarms were sent to the scene, with a fourth alarm transmitted for coverage. The cause of the fire is currently unknown at this time.
