pAt 208am hours this morning dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for a reported smoke condition in one of the buildings on the campus of a health care facility on Sicomac Avenue.ppUpon arrival of the Wyckoff Police Officersnbsp staff on scene were reporting a heavy smoke condition on the ground floor with a light smoke haze on the 1st floor living quarters.ppChief Murphy 230 signed into service and requested a full second alarm assignment to the scene due to extreme life hazards that exist in the building.ppEngine 233 OIC Lt. Forsyth Tower Ladder 241 OIC DC Rose Engine 232 OIC DC Graglia Engine 235 Res2cue 242 and the remainder of the Wyckoff assignment responded into the scene.ppIncoming 2nd alarm units consisted of FAST Teams from Ramsey and Hohokus Franklin Lakes Engine 331 Midland Park Engine 531nbspWaldwick Tower Ladder 641 Oakland Tower Ladder 1041 Hawthorne Engine 1 and North Haledon Engine 1.ppAs first due crews arrivednbsp it was determined that the cause and origin of the smoke condition was an electrical transformer that had shorted out and ignited.nbsp Crews were able to quickly isolate the problem and the scene was downsized returning the mutual aid agencies.ppThank you to all of the mutual aid agencies that came out to assist.pp-239ppnbspp
