At 709am on Friday Morning dispatch toned out the WFD for an activated alarm of fire at the Christian Health Care Center Bldg 7. Chief Murphy 230 DC. Baker 237 and Engine 231 OIC BN. Rose responded. Upon arrival DC. Baker reported that maintenance personnel on scene were reporting that the activation was in the Ramapo Ridge Section.Upon further investigation by the crew from 231 it was determined to be an alarm malfunction. All units were returned to service a short time later.At 815am dispatch toned out the WFD on the mutual aid request for one engine to respond to Christ the King Church in Waldwick to assist on an activated fire alarm in an occupied school structure. Chief Murphy 230 and Engine 231 OIC BN. Rose responded. While enroute Engine 231 was returned. The alarm was found to be a malfunction and Waldwick Command downsized the assignment.At 154pm dispatch toned out the WFD for an activated alarm of fire on Old Post Road. Chief Murphy 230 Engine 231 OIC Lt. Gaeta Engine 232 OIC FF. Depken Engine 233 DC. Baker and Tower Ladder 241 OIC FF. J. Ciampo responded. While enroute to the scene the police reported that there was a strange odor in the residence and a warm condition in the basement. Upon further investigation Lt. Gaeta reported a problem with the boiler in the residence causing a steam condition. All units were returned to service 224pm.At 357pm dispatch toned out the WFD for a strong odor of natural gas in a structure on Charnwood Drive. Chief Murphy 230 Engine 231 OIC Capt. Vanderplaat Tower Ladder 241 OIC DC. Brock and Engine 233 OIC FF. Peters responded.While on scene investigating a resident from a neighboring house reported that they had the odor of natural gas in their residence as well. At 422pm Chief Murphy reported that all readings in the residences were negative and no source of the odor could be located. PSEG was dispatched to the scene as a precautionary measure.All units were released back to service 434pm.At 1039pm dispatch toned out Co 1 units to respond on the activated Carbon Monoxide Alarm on Weymouth Drive.Chief Murphy 230 and Engine 231 OIC DC. Brock responded to the scene.Investigation revealed that the activation was caused by a faulty detector on the first floor of the residence.Units were returned to service 1104pm.-249
