On Wednesday November 14 2007 at approximately 0650 hrs dispatch toned out for an activated fire alarm at the Christian Health Care Center. DC Baker 237 arrived on scene and established command. Just after arrival dispatch reported that they received a second call from the staff confirming a fire in the laundry room. Dispatch assigned two additional mutual aid enginesFranklin Lakes North Haledon. Wyckoff Engine 231 232 and 233 arrived on scene. A second tone was dispatched bringing Truck241. A water source was established. Command immediately assessed the scene and reported that the staff had extinguished the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher. Units furthered the investigation and reported no extension. The fire was contained to a industrial laundry folding machine. The mutual aid assignment was downsized and Wyckoff units were available. A couple of hours later dispatch toned out for another activated alarm at The Christian Health Care Center in a different building. DC Baker237 arrived on scene and established Command. Engine231 232 and 235 arrived on scene for investigation. Command reported that the alarm was actually a CO detector and it was set off by maintenance staff operating a leaf blower near an open window. The alarm was reset and all units returned. In the mid afternoon dispatch toned out for an activated fire alarm at the Eisenhower School. Due to the high occupancy procedure Franklin Lakes Engine was dispatched as well. BC Zuckerman248 arrived on scene and established Command. Crews from Engine 231 232 and 233 investigated and determined that the alarm was set off in error by contractors. Franklin Lakes Engine was returned and all units were available. Just when you thought the night was over at 1935 hours dispatch toned out for a reported car fire in the driveway of a residence. Upon arrival of Chief Murphy 230 he reported a minivan with an active engine compartment fire with no threat of extension into the home. Engine 231OIC LT Zivkovich Engine232OIC DC Graglia arrived on scene and stretched lines for extinguishment. Engine 233OIC BC Deblock Engine235 and Rescue242 reported to staging nearby. Overhaul was completed and all units were available.-230
