pAt approximately 750pm last evening a quiet night in Wyckoff turned into a busy night for the members of the Wyckoff Fire Department.ppJust as a storm was moving out of Wyckoff at 750pm dispatch toned out a general alarm assignment for a transformer explosion at Wyckoff and Godwin Avenues.nbspnbsp Chief Murphy 230 signed into service and arrived on scene a few moments later to find a primary power line laying in the roadway with an active fire on the pole and traffic at a standstill.nbspppJust as Engine 231 signed into service Wyckoff Police Dispatch notified Chief Murphy of a second call for an activated fire alarm at 350 Franklin Ave.nbspnbsp Engine 231 continued into Wyckoff and Godwin while the remainder of the WFD assignment was dispatched to the second call.nbspppEngine 232 Tower Ladder 241 and Rescue 242 arrived on scene on Franklin Avenue and conducted this investigation while Engine 233 and Engine 235 were re-directed to a third call for an activated fire alarm on Everett Avenue.ppJust when three calls is not enough WPD dispatch advised Chief Murphy of two more callsnbspnbsp A homeonwer reported hearing a loud noise in the basement of her home when the power went out due to the downed power line on Wyckoff Avenue. Tower Laddder 241 and an engine were dispatched to this calls.nbspnbsp Just as units were clearing from Carlton Road an activated fire alarm was received from a residence on Joshua Lane.nbspppAll alarms and incidents were found to be related to the power outage in the area and Wyckoffs Bravest were able to go back home and get some much needed rest.ppnbspp
