pThe members of the Wyckoff Fire Department kept busy late last evening adding two more calls to logs for the month of April.ppAt 1131pm Wyckoff Police dispatched the FD to Rt. 208 North by Grandview Avenue for a vehicle wedged under the guardrail.nbspnbspppDC Rose 239 Engine 233 FF. Pruim Rescue 242 OIC Lt. Gaeta and Engine 232 OIC DC LoRusso all responded into the scene.nbspnbsp One vehicle travelling on Rt. 208 North had lost control and spun out coming to rest under the right hand guardrail.nbspnbsp FD members secured the battery to the vehicle and assisted with vehicle removal once the tow company arrived on scene.ppAt 1150pm while still working at the Rt. 208 job Wyckoff Police received a report of flames coming from the roof of a Franklin Avenue business.nbspppDC Rose signed into service along with the remaining units on the highway.nbsp Upon a confirmed report of an active fire on the roof of the business a second alarm was requested.ppUpon arrival DC Rose reported visible flames on the roof and heavy smoke in the business.nbspnbsp Engine 233 was first due into the scene immediately followed by TL 241 Engine 232 Rescue 242 and the remainder of the Wyckoff assignment.ppInterior crews were able to gain entry and reported an active kitchen fire with extension to the range hood and ventilator stack.nbspnbsp Crews were able to make a quick knock down of the fire in the kitchen area while roof crews opened up the ventilator shaft and extinguished all visible fire in the stack.ppMutual aid companies arrived and assisted with overhaul and checking adjoining businesses for any possible extension which proved negative.ppAll companies were returned to service by 120am.ppSpecial thanks to all the mutual aid agencies that assisted as well as the Wyckoff Ambulance Corp and the Wyckoff Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.ppFranklin Avenue pictures courtesy of Waldwick Fire Department.p
