pnbspnbsp On Wednesday April 25 2012 at approximately 1440hrs Engine 231OIC DC Vanderplattnbspwas dispatched to Hawthorne for a working house fire. nbspUpon arrival heavy fire conditions were evident on the second floor. The crew from 231 immediately went to work and conducted a roof vent and then went interior to the second floornbspto assit Hawthorne crews who were making an aggressive interior attack. Crews were unfortunatelynbsphampered by the quotcollyers mansionquot conditions inside.nbsp All crews aggressivelynbspcontinued to work despite this and ultimately were able to get anbspknock onnbspthe fire.nbspnbspAll crews as well as Chief Sperenza and Asst. Chief Vanek did an excellent job.nbsp Engine 231 returned to service at approximately 1630hrs.ppnbsppp246ppnbspp
