pMonday June 17 2013 For the second year in a row the wyckoff Fire Dept Assisted thenbspFranklin Lakes Volunteer Fire Departmentnbspat the Indian Trail Club for both the Swimathon and the Wyckoff Triathlon. The Volunteers had early starts to their weekends setting up the rescue boats along with the Pompton Lakes Oakland Mahwah Company 1 and Wyckoff fire departments. During each event the Fire Department was responsible for transporting swimmers that were unable to complete the course or in danger to themselves or others to shore to be evaluated by the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps. During each event multiple swimmers were pulled from the water and brought to shore to be evaluated by EMS. Both events went smoothly and the volunteers returned to the fire house by noon big thanks to Skipper Mitail for organizing the boat crews and to the dedicated volunteers who were on the boats and the shore.
